Magpie Cabin – A Modern Ranch Getaway with Bighorn Views
Tucked on the edge of Sheridan just 13 miles from downtown, the Magpie Cabin is a cozy two-bedroom retreat on a working horse ranch. With sweeping views of the Bighorn Mountains, it’s the kind of place where you’ll want to slow down, sit on the porch, and watch the light change across the valley.
Inside, you’ll find two bedrooms with queen beds, each with storage for your stay. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to cook (minus a dishwasher), and the bathroom features a walk-in shower, copper sink, luxury towels, and plenty of extras in case you forget something. Fast Starlink internet and streaming TV are available, though most guests end up spending more time on the porch soaking in the view. Heat and AC come by way of a mini split system and a propane fireplace, keeping things comfortable year-round.
Step outside and you’ll have space to grill, dine, and relax on the large porch with seating for four. Guests are welcome to explore the ranch grounds and may see horses grazing, deer moving through, or even a cowboy training horses. Please enjoy the scenery but don’t interact with the animals.
Every season brings something special—spring wildflowers, green summer pastures, baby wildlife, brilliant fall colors, and winter snow-capped peaks rolling down from the Bighorns. Pets are welcome too, making this an easy spot for the whole family to enjoy.
Whether you’re here for a Sheridan getaway, a quiet work trip, or just to breathe some Wyoming air, the Magpie Cabin is set up to make your stay comfortable and memorable.

My name is Tyler, and I've proudly called Sheridan home for the past 17 years. I began my career in the railroad industry and later transitioned into hospitality and small business ownership. For the past five years, I've hosted guests across four well-maintained short-term rental units, combining thoughtful design with genuine, local hospitality. Along side my wife, I also co-own Real Deals on Home Decor & Boutique in downtown Sheridan, where we help bring style and character into local homes. We share our lives with three dogs- Bailey, Olive, and Hattie B-who keep things lively. Hosting is more than a business for me-it's a way to share what makes Sheridan special with visitors from near and far.
